Well, due to my busy schedule in academics, I could not post in last week or so. But today I take this opportunity to post the happenings going on & off the cricket boundary.
The Semifinals
Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore was the first semifinal. Both the teams are my favorite teams. But as it was a war between them, I had to go with MI. And thankfully MI proved their worth & beat RCB by a convincing margin to reach at the IPL-3 Final. In the second semifinal between Chennai Super Kings & Deccan Chargers, I was expecting a very cut-throat competition. But it wasn't to be! DC was dismissed to a low total & CSK registered their second entry in the IPL finals out of the three seasons. It was all set on 25th for the Mega Final Between MI vs CSK.
Meanwhile, the match on 24th for the Number 3 position- vital for the entry in the Champion's League- was the biggest disappointment for an IPL or T-20 cricket fan. DC displayed a very poor show & RCB grabbed the situation to make sure they are not the one left out for the Champion's League.
37 years of the God's birth!
It was Sachin Tendulkar's 37th birthday on 24th April. The master is
getting better & better as he is aging! WISH YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY SACHIN, MAY THE DREAM OF WORLD-CUP IN ODIs COME TRUE IN COMING TIME..!
The Mega final
Sachin was injured & everyone except Chennai was praying that he plays it. He finally did it. That shows the will of the master (maybe the pressure put by the franchise..!) to play in this condition. But on that day, as you all must have watched, the magic of Tendulkar did not shine and MI lost to CSK by a considerable margin. Was Pollard sent when everything was out of control? Well, this will always be a topic for debates in coming weeks! MS Dhoni was lucky captain to lift the very heavy trophy of IPL-3 Winners- thanks to the match turning performance of Suresh Raina. Raina has a very bright future & will surely be the backbone of Indian Batting Lineup is in future, or is he?
IPL- caught Modi, bowled Tharoor
The last two weeks were the dark days as far as IPL off the field was concerned. I wonder if Cricket has started becoming uncertain off the field too! I don't know about the frauds or malpractices done in the league. But a Cabinet Minister had to resign, Chairman & Commissioner of IPL was fired by the BCCI. Some things are definitely going wrong. But because of this 'off the field drama', the Brand IPL became dull. It got contaminated because of the allegations from the different persons on each other. Even in the Parliament of India, this issue is into the limelight for last week. Let's hope that Truth comes out & IPL- 'off the field' gets better days. By the way,
Finally, it was very competitive 45 days of T 20 cricket in

even though MI lost but it was indeed a commendable performance from the MI boys...take a bow champs...but i think they missed a trick in finals ..pollard came way to late and the start was way to slow.....but next year surely the MI will rock...
